*教会简介*
真理堂始于1933年惹兰苏丹的家庭聚会，当地人称“二十间”，居民以闽南人为主。教会历经搬迁，1942年9月正式定名“真理堂”。1943年8月3日，吕天亮牧师受职为首任主理牧师。
1959年购置芽笼基里马路地段建堂，1960年3月5日举行奠基典礼，许瑞庭长老安放基石并题字“这家就是永生上帝的教会，真理的柱石和根基”。同年7月23日举行献堂典礼。
作为长老宗教会，真理堂秉承加尔文忠于圣经的精神，通过崇拜、教导与团契生活塑造门徒。
在宣教上，本堂重视与区域教会合作植堂、神学教育，在本地成立泰国与印尼事工，差派宣教士至未得之地。
在社区服务方面，开办真理幼稚园、少年旅、教育治疗服务及“松年之友”乐龄中心，并积极参与族群与宗教互信活动，促进社区共融。
Brief History
The Chen Li Church traces its origins to 1933, when it began as a home fellowship at Jalan Sultan, an area locally known as the “Twenty Houses,” then predominantly inhabited by Hokkien-speaking residents. The church subsequently relocated several times and was officially named “Chen Li Church” in September 1942. On 3 August 1943, Rev. Lü Tian Liang was ordained as the church’s first senior pastor.
In 1959, the church acquired a site along Geylang, Guillemard Road for the construction of a new sanctuary. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 5 March 1960, during which Elder Hsu Rui Ting laid the cornerstone, inscribed with the words: “This house is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” The dedication service was held on 23 July of the same year.
As a Presbyterian congregation, Chen Li Church upholds the Reformed tradition’s commitment to the authority of Scripture, seeking to form disciples through worship, teaching, and fellowship.
In its missions' work, the church places strong emphasis on partnership with regional churches in church planting and theological education. It has also developed Thai and Indonesian ministries locally and sends missionaries to unreached people groups.
In community outreach, the church operates Chen Li Kindergarten, Boys’ Brigade, and the Friends of the 3rd Age, senior centre. It is also actively engaged in interethnic and interfaith initiatives, contributing to social cohesion and community harmony.
